Arrangers DMC has been named as the winner in the Best Tour Program category in the 2006 ADME Achievement Awards for the event Planes, TRAINS and Automobiles, submitted by Nicole Marsh, CMP, DMCP.
The awards are presented by the Association of Destination Management Executives, the only professional society for destination management executives with more than 200 members in North America and the European Community. The winners were announced during a gala event in February at the Westin Mission Hills Hotel in Rancho Mirage, CA. Destination management executives from around the world were in attendance at this gala event.
More than 50 entries from companies throughout North America were submitted for consideration in seven categories, including Best Innovative Events in three financial categories, Best Creative Events – Tour, Recreation and Teambuilding Program and Best Logistics – Transportation. The Arrangers DMC is the winner in the Best Tour Program. In recognition of this honor, a crystal award was presented to acknowledge their outstanding accomplishment.
The award-winning tour program was nicknamed Planes, TRAINS and Automobiles as over 1,200 train junkies, members of Lionel Collectors Club of America, flew into Colorado and enjoyed a week of specialty tours. The program included six ‘train’, four sightseeing and two private layout tours. They toured high and low, near and far… From the Royal Gorge valley and atop the 14,000ft Pike’s Peak via the Cog Railway to the Colorado Railroad Museum and the historic Georgetown mining train, the tours were received as “second to none.” Twelve tours, totaling over 2,200 guests, showcased the state, making the convention so successful that – even before they left – they began planning for their return.
Judging was completed by independent judging teams from the United States and Canada representing various organizations that participate in the Convention Industry Council, including ASAE, HSMAI, ISES, IT & ME, MPI, NACE , SITE and PCMA.
